About Twin Valley Riders

Superlatives roll off the tongues of motorcyclists from around the globe when they first experience riding around Southwest Virginia. For those of us privileged to live in the Roanoke and New River Valleys, enjoyment of the sport of motorcycling here is akin to skiing in Aspen, climbing in Yosemite, or rafting through the Grand Canyon. Indeed, it gets no better anywhere.

Twin Valley Riders is a group of like-minded people who enjoy the thrill of great roads, fabulous scenery, scant traffic, good food and drink, and fine camaraderie. We ride mostly BMWs, KTMs, Hondas, Triumphs, Ducatis, Kawasakis, Moto Guzzis, Yamahas, and Suzukis, typically from each marquee’s touring, adventure, or sport-touring offerings. Many of us have long histories in motorcycling, and we love to see the older classic machines being ridden and enjoyed.

Our rides are brisk and entertaining, but not macho. Safety is emphasized and nobody gets left behind.

Food and beer. Fun. Family. Exploration. Motorcycling. Especially motorcycling! If winding down a twisty mountain road with a great group of guys (and we welcome the gals, too) appeals to you, join us at the next Twin Valley Riders event. See the schedule to the right of this screen; we have something going on almost every weekend all year.

We are chartered as BMW-MOA Chapter 284, however, we are an all-marque club and have no requirement that members ride a particular make of bike.

The Roanoke and New River Valleys lie across the Eastern Continental DivideRoanoke and New River Valleys of Virginia in the Ridge-and-valley portion of the Appalachians west of the Blue Ridge and east of the Allegheny Plateau. Elevations within the two watersheds range from 297′ on the upper Roanoke River to 4361′ atop Salt Pond Mountain in Giles County. The fascinating geography and mountain heritage of the middle Appalachian Mountains offer great destinations as well as some of the best motorcycling roads in the country.

Twin Valley Riders always has activities on their calendar, and always a great bunch of people to ride with. Overnight excursions, shorter and longer day trips, camp-outs, tech workshops, tire changing sessions, regular breakfasts meetings, malt therapy sessions and family appropriate social gatherings are all part of the fun
